Precision automatic vibration polishing machine

    CY vibration polishing is a polishing technology that minimizes sample wear and is suitable for preparing high-quality polished surfaces on various materials, including electron backscatter diffraction analysis (EBSD) applications. The CY-ZD-3300 vibration polisher uses a spring plate and a magnetically attracted motor to generate left-right vibrations, but the spring plate connecting the polishing disc and the vibrating body is angled, so that the sample moves in a circular motion within the polishing disc. Unlike traditional vibration polishers, this machine can generate almost completely horizontal vibrations, which greatly increases the time that the sample contacts the polishing cloth.

The machine has a novel and beautiful appearance, and the vibration frequency can be automatically adjusted with the working voltage. It is easy to operate and can place multiple samples at a time without the need for personnel on duty. After setting the parameters, the user can leave and wait for the sample to automatically complete the vibration polishing. This equipment, combined with the final polishing liquid, can effectively remove the final thin deformation layer on the sample surface and improve the light reflectivity of the sample surface, thereby making it more conducive to obtaining a metallographic observation image that tends to be perfect. It is the final physical polishing tool.

Application case: Vibration polishing machine for aluminum die casting process

 Experimental materials and equipment

1. Preparation

Cleaning aluminum die castings: Before entering the vibration polisher, aluminum die castings need to be cleaned to remove surface oil, impurities or particles remaining during the casting process.

Choose appropriate grinding media: According to the surface quality requirements of aluminum die castings, select suitable grinding media (such as round or oval resin, ceramic, rubber and other grinding materials).

2. Loading aluminum die castings

Load aluminum die castings and grinding media into the working tank of the vibration polisher in appropriate proportions. Aluminum parts and grinding media need to be fully mixed to ensure uniform polishing.

Usually, the ratio of aluminum parts to grinding media is 1:2 to 1:3, which is adjusted according to the surface requirements of aluminum parts and polishing time.

3. Setting working parameters

Set the working parameters of the vibration polisher, such as vibration frequency, vibration amplitude and working time. Common vibration frequencies are 20-50 Hz and amplitudes are between 3-10mm.

According to the complexity and surface finish requirements of aluminum die castings, choose the appropriate working time, which usually ranges from 30 minutes to several hours.

4. Polishing process

Start the vibration polisher and start the vibration polishing. The vibration makes the aluminum die casting and the grinding medium rub against each other, gradually removing the burrs, oxide layer and uneven parts on the surface of the aluminum part.

During the process, the particles of the grinding medium rub against the surface of the aluminum part, gradually removing surface defects and improving the surface finish.

5. Check the polishing effect

After the set time, stop the vibration polisher and take out the aluminum die casting. Check whether its surface has achieved the expected finish and appearance.

If the surface is still not smooth enough, you can adjust the polishing time, change the medium or add abrasive materials of different particle sizes as needed, and polish again.

6. Cleaning the aluminum die casting

After polishing, the aluminum die casting and the grinding medium need to be separated, and the aluminum part needs to be thoroughly cleaned with water or other cleaning agents to remove the residual polishing liquid and medium.

After cleaning, it can be dried to ensure that there is no moisture residue on the surface of the aluminum part.

7. Surface treatment (optional)

If necessary, subsequent surface treatments such as sandblasting, polishing with polishing liquid, anodizing, etc. can be performed to further improve the surface quality of aluminum parts, prevent oxidation and enhance the decorative effect.

8. Quality inspection and packaging

After completing all steps, quality inspection is carried out to ensure that the aluminum die castings meet the required appearance and surface finish requirements.

After the inspection is correct, the aluminum die castings can be packaged and ready for delivery to customers.

Notes:

Vibration frequency and amplitude: The appropriate vibration frequency and amplitude need to be selected according to the shape, size and surface requirements of the aluminum die castings.

Media selection: Different grinding media and particle sizes will affect the surface finish of aluminum parts, which can be adjusted according to actual needs.

Time control: Too long polishing time may cause excessive surface wear, and too short time may not achieve the expected effect, which needs to be optimized according to specific circumstances.

Through the above process, aluminum die castings can remove surface burrs, oxides and obtain a smooth surface with the help of vibration polishing machine.
